Aliaksei Pustavoitau

MD, MHS, FCCM

Biography

Dr. Pustavoitau graduated from Belarusian State Medical University in Minsk, Belarus. He completed a residency in anesthesiology at Wayne State University/ Detroit Medical Center and fellowship in critical care medicine at Johns Hopkins University. He is certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology in anesthesiology with additional qualifications in critical care medicine. He is also certified by the National Board of Echocardiography in Basic Perioperative Transesophageal Echocardiography and acquired testamur status in Critical Care Echocardiography. He is a member of the Society of Critical Care Medicine, Society of Critical Care Anesthesiologists, International Anesthesia Research Society and Society for the Advancement of Transplant Anesthesia. Dr. Pustavoitau currently works in The Johns Hopkins University as an Associate Professor of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine. At Johns Hopkins Hospital, he is a Director of Perioperative Ultrasound, a Medical Director of Respiratory Care Services and a Director of critical care triage program. He also has 15 years of transplant anesthesia experience and served as a Director of Transplant Anesthesia for 5 years.

Dr. Pustavoitau’s medical interests are related to system’s building in the areas of point-of-care ultrasound, respiratory support and critical care triage. Comprehensive system approach involves integration of clinical, educational, research, and quality improvement activities to achieve long-term robust improvements in healthcare programs.

He enjoys hiking in the mountains, biking and travel. “Ukraine is on its quest for freedom through sacrifice, blood and hard work. With freedom comes a great responsibility to own the future”.
