This is Vadim, a traumatologist from Dnipro. Every day, he uses a not widely-known VAC therapy that prevents every other amputation in Ukraine.
Before February 24, 2022, there was no need for VAC devices in Ukraine. Now each hospital in the country receives dozens of seriously wounded soldiers weekly. Dnipro hospitals received 8 VAC devices from the Help Ukrainian Hospitals Charity. However, that’s just a drop in the bucket when one hospital department in Dnipro gets up to 100 wounded people in one night, each needing a VAC device.
